During the sequence when Norman tries to enter Meredith's heart, his attempt will now fail. Building upon the strength that Meredith gained having prevented

corruption from a zombie once before, her willingness to accept Norman's temptation does not work. Angrily, Norman still takes Meredith to Fortune Tower in

an effort to provoke the MC.

Now, the Z-Choice routes are much more similar. Both the Fate of Lust & Fate of Passion lead to Norman attempting to corrupt Meredith's heart. In the Fate of

Lust, he still initiates this with a kiss that catches everyone off guard. In the Fate of Passion, he activates the curse of the zombie touch after grabbing on to her.

The Fate of Passion now explores Norman's backstory as well. During Norman's backstory, audio during the hallway cutscene is replaced by rain in the Fate of Passion

to soften the emotional impact of that event.

I believe these changes help the final events of the game flow in a similar tone as the rest of the game. I believe it also strengthens Meredith's own character as

her previous journey with the MC serves as growth for succeeding against Norman's deceptive tactics. Meanwhile, the rest of the events still manage to play out as

originally planned.

A few parts of dialogue have been added/expanded during key sections. Both Talia and Norman have a few more lines spoken during different segments to add a little

more to these particular moments.

== Secret Shop ==

A brand new shop is open in The Underground! Located just to the right of The Underground's subway station, a hidden alleyway contains both a quirky shopkeeper and

the rare event items!

As of

cards that are sold in the Secret Shop.

The Haunted Manor Key also can be purchased here. This is required to access the Abandoned Manor in the Park to access the Ghost event.

== Meredith Scene Replay ==

Meredith's "Finale" scene can now be replayed.

After beating the game, bring Meredith to your bedroom or wait for her at your bed at Midnight.

== Other Adjustments ==

This update fixes a bug where players were getting softlocked when rescuing 2 women before 3 days had passed. This issue should now be fixed and previously affected saves should be fine! Sorry for the trouble there!

Additionally, some small text and bug fixes were added.

Lastly, the Haunted Manor is now locked behind an event item, the Haunted Manor Key. You can purchase the key for 10z in the new extended section of The Grid. On the south side, there is rubble that Fiona can clear from her workshop. Here, you can purchase special event items to access all 3 season events as well as this key. In the future, this shop will be moved to the Underground as a permanent location to access these special events.

The climactic finale to the Zombie's Retreat 2 story is here!

The final showdown is ready to begin. So long as Meredith is willing to go along with the plan! In order to begin the new story events, you will need to have completed the previous story events with Lucy and Misty.

Additionally, you will need to have rescued at least 5 survivors and Meredith must be at a 3-heart relationship. From there, talking to Lucy should progress the new story events naturally.

The Zombie's Retreat 2 storyline is something that I have been working on for several years now. I've grown deeply attached to the Zombie's Retreat story and these characters that have brought life to the game. I hope you enjoy playing through it as well!

== Meredith ==

Meredith is central to this update, being an important character to this main story, but also being the focus of new content.

Along with the main story content, there are new interactions to experience with Meredith if you've already completed her previous story events. Talking with her should naturally progress to these new events.

== Z-Choice ==

The infamous Z-Choice returns in

Will you pick the Fate of Lust? A raw and unfiltered story that further explores the motivations of various characters? Or will you choose the Fate of Passion? A more light-hearted telling of events that follows a classic story-telling of events.

Both options are perfectly canon so there is no right or wrong choice.

WARNING: The Fate of Lust contains themes/topics that some viewers may find upsetting or disturbing. If you are concerned about this, choose the Fate of Passion! If you prefer a deeper narrative experience, even if it's not always pleasant, the Fate of Lust is better suited for you.

Beta 0.26 includes a spooky new addition to Crimson City! An old abandoned manor has appeared in a forgotten section of the park. You can get there by going to the East District, south/down into the Park, and then west/left past the new gates.

This manor has long been rumored to be haunted. Some rumors even say that a few who have dared to explore the manor have never returned...

But it's probably all just silly rumors!

Exploring the manor might be worth the fright!

The primary focus of this update features a brand new sidequest involving both Meredith & Olivia!

After completing both of their main stories AND completing the initial events of The Underground (winning Violet Cup), a new event will automatically take place at home when a day has passed.

Before the zombie outbreak, Olivia had a part time job as a merchant of certain... 'goods'. But a change of heart means it's time to retrieve that lost merchandise.

Stealing back such a prized product probably won't go over too well though so make sure you're prepared!

Bridgette also has a new request after completing her main story. She's been unable to restock on her special perfume. It's not just any perfume, however. Only a special merchant has the prize.

To celebrate Meredith's victory in the 2024 Milf Showdown competition, Beta 0.22 includes a new, short event for her!

In the middle of the Grid, you'll find another event tour NPC* who looks like Meredith in a special super hero costume. There have been rumors of a sexy super hero stopping crime in Crimson City! But surely the legends of the Crimson Milf are just that, right?

Thank you to everyone who voted and participated in the Milf Showdown competition! These are always a fun way to involve the community and celebrating all of the fun, sexy characters in the games I've worked on! Meredith is clearly quite an especially beloved one!

Beta 0.21 includes a brand new winter seasonal event in Crimson City!

There is a temporary Elf NPC in The Grid who will transport you to the new event contents! This update assumes you have maxed out your relationship with both Meredith & Michelle so I highly encourage you play through their stories first!

The Frosty Court is a secluded district in the city with a famously chilly climate! In order to make sure the holidays feel nice and cozy, it'll be up to you to find the lost presents for and deliver the most delicious holiday treats!

Beta 0.20 focuses on a brand new survivor, a successful businesswoman named Bridgette!

You can discover her stuck in her studious townhouse near the Medical District. Her story will involve you visiting both

Note: You will need to have visited the Underground in order to fully complete Bridgette's storyline

The main storyline continues after the events in the Bayou District! Once you've done that, talking to Lucy again should progress the story. This time, the duo returns back to the Underground.

Beta 0.18 includes a brand new facility to build in The Grid!

The Bathhouse is a location where you can invite certain women to spend time with once you've reached a certain point in

their relationship!

There are only a few interactions (3) currently available here but I plan to add a couple more in a later update!

== Colosseum ==

To unlock the bathhouse, a new tournament is available in the Colosseum located in The Underground! The new tournament will

become available after you've completed the initial story questline in The Underground (after viewing Violets NSFW scene)

The Colosseum also has proper functionality now. Losing will take you back to the lobby*. And tournaments can be repeated

for a small cash prize.

Future tournaments will be added in further updates!

*The initial violet cup will still result in a game over and the game will now warn you to save first

== The Grid - Customization ==

More customization options are available in The Grid. Street lamps can now be crafted.

Additionally, a new tradable sidequest NPC is available in The Underground. She will unlock new customization options for the

street lamps as well as allow you to customize the exterior of the home base!

More customization options will also be added in the future!

Added a brand new seasonal event with the Lunar New Year celebrations!

Olivia and Meredith receive mysterious invites to The Underground. Everyone knows a lot of shady things happen down there but

this might be an opportunity that's too fun to pass up! Of course, it'll be up to you to make sure they are supervised. Maybe

you'll get to join in the fun too!

To begin this event, a temporary NPC is placed in The Grid. This woman in the blue outfit will automatically transport you

to the event location. This way, you can start on a brand new save file and enjoy the new content.

In a future update, the event will be properly implemented and will need to be unlocked but for now, enjoy the easy access!

Beta 0.16 is a focus update for Michelle! The sexy Nurse that you can rescue from the Crimson City Hospital.

After being saved, Michelle offers to help you explore new parts of the Hospital to look for supplies. Things take a turn

when an unexpected guest arrives! Proceed with caution as this might be the toughest foe that our hero has faced so far!

I hope you enjoy Michelle's storyline. The theme of it is to remain hopeful and never give up even when things are bleak.

A new milkshake is also available to craft at Stacy's Diner! The Gold Leaf Milkshake will reveal hidden items around the map

temporarily. It's effect currently lasts until 7 items have been found.

In the future, I am planning on a hidden item respawn system to give this milkshake more long term usefulness.

Beta 0.14 introduces a sidequest storyline for Fiona, the bombshell queen of construction!

In order to begin her new storyline content, you will need to have first completed her main story quest involving opening

up the East Subway Tunnel. It's available pretty early on in the game so you don't need to progress far!

Fiona is always working on new ways to help give you more scavenging opportunities so perhaps she has some fun ideas in

mind this time. You'll have to talk to her yourself to find out!

== The Grid Expansions ==

Additionally, The Grid has had some general changes/improvements. Further customization options will be added with future

updates as well.

Gardens have received an overhaul in how they function. Every 3 days, your garden will be automatically harvested overnight.

In order to increase the yield, you can spend 1 water to hydrate the garden. Rainy days will automatically water it for

that day as well!

Players who regularly hydrate their garden will yield more fruit on average compared to the old daily harvest rate and water

now has another purpose that should make it a little more of a valuable resource

Interacting with the garden will let you check on how the garden is doing as well as the option to water it

The central plot to the left of the house can now be selected when building. Additionally, interacting with a plot that has

a construction will give you the option to move/swap it to a new location for added customization

The ability to customize the garden planters has been added. After meeting the initial construction requirements, you can

interact with them to change their appearance as you like.

More constructable options will be added to continue allowing for players to customize The Grid to their liking so stay tuned!

Beta 0.13 is a short but sweet update adding a special event for Meredith for winning the second Character Showdown tournament!

Leslie, the winner of the first tournament, also received a special scene that is viewable in ZR1 as well as ZR2.

In order to access the new event, there is a temporary NPC just below the starting house that will take you to the new

content. In the future, this costume will need to be unlocked and accessed differently once proper implementation of events

are finished.

Additionally, in a future update, you will be able to have Meredith change into this new outfit for regular use around

the Grid!
